   Brief History

On February of 1858, 13 members of Waterville lodge voted to organize a new lodge in Fairfield. On March 3, 1858 a preliminary meeting was held in a building on the corner of Bridge and Main St. in Fairfield. On February18, 1859 Siloam Lodge was dedicated at a ceremony held at the Methodist church on the corner Western Ave. and Main St. The first meetings were held in a small room, 28' by 31', over a carriage house which was on the corner of Newhall and Lawrence Ave. The second home of Siloam Lodge was in a room in the rear of the Hotel Gerald which is now Northern Mattress Co.
    On April 6, 1899 it was voted to buy a lot on the East side of Main St. and construct a brick building with the lodge hall on the third floor. On February 14, 1900 Siloam Lodge met for the first time in the new hall. November 20, 1920 the mortgage and note were burned to ashes on the alter in open lodge.
